The New York times, quoting security intelligence, reported Abu Mohammad Al-Masri, Al-Qaeda’s Second highest in Command, mastermind of deadly attacks on US embassies in Africa was killed in Iran.
Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, who went by the nom de guerre Abu Muhammad al-Masr, was gunned down on the streets of Tehran by Two Israeli assassins on a motorcycle on August 7 of this year.
He was assassinated alongside his daughter, Miriam, widow of Osama bin Laden’s son Hamza Bin Laden.
Israeli operatives are reported to have carried out the attack, Al-Masri thought to be first in line to lead the organization after Ayman Al-Zawahiri.
In late October of this year, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) says security forces have killed Abu Mohsen al-Mesri, a senior member of the al-Qaeda network, during a special operation in Ghazni province.
A press statement released by the NDS said that the security forces killed Abu Mohsin al-Mesri, a senior al-Qaeda commander assigned for the Indian subcontinent, during a special operation in Ghazni province on October 25.
