Israel: Two senior Hamas officials killed in Rafah attack

The Israeli army announced that they targeted a Hamas headquarters in Rafah. The Israeli army stated that in this attack, two important members of this group named Yassin Rabi’ and Khaled Najjar were killed “using precise ammunition and based on accurate information.”

The Israeli army identified the two people killed in the attack as Yassin Rabi’, responsible for all Hamas operations in the Judea and Samaria region, and Khaled Najjar, a senior Hamas official at the command center in this area.

Meanwhile, tensions between Netanyahu and U.S. President Joe Biden over how Israel’s leadership is managing the Gaza war continue.

Mike Johnson, the Republican Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, said on Thursday, May, 23, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will soon address a joint session of Congress.

Meanwhile, recent Israeli attacks on a refugee camp in Rafah have killed nearly 60 people and injured dozens, according to Al Jazeera, citing health officials in Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported 81 deaths and 223 injuries in the past 24 hours, raising the total death toll from recent attacks to 80.

Since the start of the Israeli offensive on Gaza in October 2023, over 35,984 people have been killed and 80,643 injured, highlighting the ongoing severity of the conflict.
