Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, stated that Israel is committing “state terrorism” in Gaza and violating international laws. Addressing Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, he added, “Your end is near, whether you possess nuclear weapons or not.”
Mr. Erdogan spoke on Wednesday at a parliamentary group meeting of the ruling party, “Justice and Development,” in Ankara, emphasizing that Hamas is not a terrorist group but a political party formed by Palestinians.
“Israel is engaged in state terrorism. I am saying clearly that Israel is a terrorist state. You call Hamas a terrorist organization. However, Hamas is a political party that won elections,” he said in an address to members of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party in parliament.
The Turkish President also stressed that he would discuss with the 41 countries that did not vote positively on the General Assembly resolution concerning Gaza.
“We are witnessing genocide [in the Gaza Strip]. Hundreds of lawyers are going to the Hague Court to take measures against it. They are doing everything necessary. We will do everything necessary. If Israel continues to act this way, it will prove that it is a terrorist state,” the Turkish president added.
Since the beginning of the conflicts between Hamas and Israel, President Erdogan has repeatedly criticized Tel Aviv’s actions and referred to Israel as an “occupier.”
