The Iraqi forces have claimed that the militants are also shaving their beards and put make-up on their face to escape the battlefield.
A bizarre series of snaps have emerged online on social media websites which shows the men caught wearing dress and bras.
According to the Arabic captions the the pictures were taken in the Baiji area of northern Iraq. However, one of the photos apparently belongs to an Afghan insurgent who was captured by the Afghan security forces.
The Iraqi forces are engaged in a military operation in jihadi strongholds in Tirkrit for the first time since Wednesday with reports suggestig as many as 20,000 militiamen could be involved in the offensive to take back the city.
This comes as the the Iraqi Special Forces have posted shocking pictures and videos which purportedly shows the torturing and beheading of Islamic State (ISIS) prisoners.
The photographs were reportedly posted through Instagram online in the past few days which apparently shows revenge attacks on ISIS militants after the terrorist group massacred hundreds of Iraqi military cadets at Camp Speicher, near Tikrit, the hometown of the late Saddam Hussain, in June.
