The U.S. Special Forces conducted an operation in North-west Syria against ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, it has been reported.

A senior U.S. defense official has told media outlets in U.S. that the Special Forces have likely killed al-Baghdadi during the raid on Saturday.

However, the official said final confirmation is pending as DNA and biometric testing is being conducted.

The official further added it appears al-Baghdadi detonated a suicide bombing vest during the raid which the Special Forces conducted based on CIA tip off.

The ISIS terrorist group has not commented in this regard so far.

This comes as similar reports have emerged in the past as well regarding the likely killing of the ISIS leader in military raids.
