The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Khurasan (ISIS-K) militants have beheaded at least three people working as attendants for a local school in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The provincial government media office in a statement confirmed that the ISIS Khurasan militants have beheaded three workers of Malikyar High School in Khogyani district.

The statement further added that the incident took place late on Saturday night and the library of the school was also set on fire.

Provincial education directorate spokesman Mohammad Asif Shinwari also confirmed the brutal murder of the school attendants and said all three men were beheaded by the militants.

Nangarhar’s governor Hayatullah Hayat expressed grief regarding the brutal murder of the school attendants and ordered the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident.

The anti-government armed militant and terrorist groups including ISIS Khurasan loyalists have not commented regarding the incident so far.

This comes as both the ISIS Khurasan and Taliban militants are attempting to expand their foothold and terrorist related activities in this province.
