Islamic State (IS) in a statement has claimed responsibility for the explosions in four different Afghan cities that killed over 40 civilians and wounded more than eighty more, India Today reported.
The IS in their statement said that explosives were set in a bag inside the mosque in Mazar-e-Sharif and were blown up from afar.
The explosion that targeted Shiite Muslims in She Dokan mosque killed at least 37 and wounded more than 80 more.
In another explosion in the northern Kunduz province, four people were killed and eight more wounded after a planted bomb exploded near a car of mechanics working for the Taliban.
In the capital Kabul, two planted bombs wounded two children while that in the eastern Nangarhar province killed four Taliban members.
