IRGC behind Helmand clashesThe Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) Chief, Rahmatulllah Nabil, said Wednesday that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Pakistan’s Inter-service Intelligence (ISI) are involved behind the deadly clashes in Helmand province.

NDS Chief told Afghan lawmakers that the IRGC and ISI are seeking their interests in Helmand clashes.

He also added that the IRGC and ISI are currently working to implement their plans by taking advantage from the current political issues due to elections.

According to Nabil, Pakistan is directly involved in instability and continued violence in eastern, northeastern and western provinces where the militia men have been deployed to fight the Afghan forces.

The senior security officials were summoned in Afghan parliament on Wednesday to brief the lawmakers regrding the deadly clashes in Helmand province.

Dozens of Afghan civilians and security forces were killed or injured during the clashes which continued for almost one week.

Around 800 Taliban militants launched the offensive in Sangin district and the clashes soon spread in other districts Kajaki, Nawzad and Mosa Qala.

  1. I think, nowadays it became an habit of Afghan whenever they accuse Pakistan they also name Iran, it is not important whether Iran is involved or not.

I have few questions from NDS director, what was the role of Iran’s revolutionary guards in Helmand?
what is the interest of Iran in Helman fighting? how did you get to know that? do you have any prove, if yes, why don’t you share with people and media?

I don’t think, Iran is in position to be behind such fighting, from other hand Iran doesn’t support such an extremist group (Taliban).

I hope you give us more information on Helmand fighting.

  2. Its seems NDS chief realizes that they have lost the war they have waged against ISI.

All their backers whether CIA, MOSSAD or RAW are on way out.

ISI is going to put such characters to fire & soon these Afghan officials would be sitting in Dubai along with their ill gotten $…..

  3. The most notorious nation in the world is Afghans, They will never ever be in peace until they respect their immediate Neighbors.

    • You gotta be kidding me, Pakistan’s renegade intelligence agency has been mucking up stability in the region for decades and Pakistani rangers just violated the ceasefire in Kashmir for the 3rd time this month. I’ll have what you’re smoking
