Iran-manufactured drones have been the main backbone of the 11-month-old conflict between Russia and Ukraine, while investigation shows that Iranian drones include American and Western components.
According to CNN, despite long-standing economic and military sanctions on Iran, research reveals that 82% of Iranian drone components were produced by companies based in the US, Eurasia Review Reported.
According to Ukrainian sources, the military shot down approximately 80 drones in a single day, while Russia has fired about 600 drones since last September, reported by New York Times on 4 January.
The United States Secretary of State Pointed out that Iran’s military support and provision are fueling the existing conflict between Russia and Ukraine and violating the 2231 UN Security Council resolution, Blinken declared.
He further stated, “Iran is Russia’s top military supporter, and we will continue to use every tool at our disposal to disrupt and delay these transfers and impost costs on actors engaged in this activity.”
Military experts say that there is still doubt about the actual capabilities of the Iranian armed forces. However, drone technology can threaten American allies in the region and fuel the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
On the other hand, CNN also reported that Iran began transferring drone technology to Russia to help prepare drone production inside the country as part of a deal between Iran and Russia, officials said.
