Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US Ambassador to the United Nations and Afghanistan has criticized President Biden’s policy of appeasement in response to the killing of three American soldiers in an attack by paramilitary groups near Iran.

Khalilzad, who is closely associated with the Republican Party, along with senior members of the party, is advocating for American attacks on the interests of the Islamic Republic.

He believes that Iran is relentless and will launch attacks on American soldiers and military installations in the region, alongside its supported forces, without hesitation.

Khalilzad wrote on his social media platform X on Sunday, stating the need for a new approach where Iran bears a cost beyond its imagination, which would serve as an effective deterrent.

The United States, while blaming groups affiliated with the Islamic Republic of Iran, held them responsible for a drone attack on American forces in northeastern Jordan in Syria on January 28, resulting in the death of three American soldiers and many injuries.

According to media outlets reports, three US soldiers were killed and over 30 individuals were injured in this attack.

The “Islamic Resistance” group in Iraq, which is affiliated with the Islamic Republic, claimed responsibility for the attack on three American bases, including Al-Shaddadi and Al-Tanf in Syria, as well as Al-Rukban in Jordan.

The situation highlights the escalating tensions in the region and the challenges faced in maintaining stability and peace.
