The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations stated that more than 2,000 Afghan migrants returned to the country after being expelled from Iran.

The ministry announced on Monday, April 22nd, through a newsletter, that 2,600 Afghan migrants entered the country on Friday and Saturday.

According to the newsletter, those recently expelled from Iran re-entered the country through the Islam Qala-Herat border.

The Islam Qala border official stated that returnees include both families and singles, and some of them have been referred to the International Organization for Migration for assistance.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Refugees has stated that 46 unaccompanied children have been referred to the WARCHILD organization for family identification.

The Ministry of Refugees reported the return of migrants from Iran at a time when the wave of expulsion of Afghan migrants from Iran, mainly to Pakistan, has increased in recent months.
