Iran publicly executed two Afghan citizens, namely Mohammed Ramez Rashidi and Sayeed Naeem Hashimi Qatali accused of having involvement in Shah Cheragh attack that occurred in Shiraz Iran, media reported.

The Iranian state media, IRNA, on Saturday reported the two convicts were executed in public before sunrise today, in the street adjacent to Shah Cheragh Shrine.

The terrorist attack on Shah Cheraqh shrine took place on October 26, 2022, in southern Shiraz city of Iran, resulting in the death of at least 13 people and the injury of 20 others.

The Islamic State (ISIS) fighters claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on the Shah Cheragh pilgrimage site.

“The two convicts had a direct role in planning the deadly attack and supporting the main perpetrator of the incident, also confirmed by the country’s Supreme Court,” IRNA reported.

According to reports, Iran’s Supreme Court considered the actions of these two criminals as “clear examples of the evildoers and destroyers of the earth”.

Meanwhile, the Iran Human Rights organization on Thursday, July 6 reported the two Afghan nationals would be executed accused in the Shah Cheragh case.

In a statement, the organization stated that the verdicts issued against Mohammad Ramez Rashidi and Naeem Hashem Qatali have no legal validity.

Mahmood Amiry Moghadam, President of Iran Human Rights has said the two Afghan nationals were sentenced to death after an unfair trial without evidence of their guilt.

“They were the primary victims of the Islamic Regime’s slaughtering machine through the government is trying to cover up its responsibility in the terrorist tragedy of the Shah Cheragh terror attack,” Moghadam said.
