Iran has allocated millions of dollars in funds to pay Afghan parliament members in order to dismiss the strategic pact between Afghanistan and United States of America.
An Afghan government official speaking on the condition of anonymity said Iran has allocated $25 million funds and is being distributed by an Afghan lawmaker to Afghan parliament members to prevent approving the strategic pact.
He also said that the Afghan parliament member Hazrat Ali is married to an Iranian lady and he is travelling between Afghanistan and Iran without any visa requirements.
However Hazrat Ali quoted by a local Radio “Radio Azadi” denied the allegations against him and said he was not servant to any other nation.
He said, an Afghan parliament member has the rights to approve or dismiss the strategic pact considering the Afghan constitution and Islamic principles.
In the meantime a number of Afghan government officials quoted by Reuters News Agency said there are around 44 Afghan parliament members who have been paid by Iran to reject the pact.
This comes as the Afghan House of Representatives agreed to include the Afghan-US strategic pact in their Saturday session.
