International Afghan footballer joins Dempo Sports Club in India

1545023_10154214945645355_415173763_nThe International Afghan footballer and captain of Afghanistan National Football Team Zohib Islam Amiri has joined the Dempo Sports Club in India, following his remarkable performance for Mumbai Football Club – Mumbai FC.

Zohib Islam Amiri will play for the Goa based Demp S.C. till the end of the 2013 and 2014 season.

Amiri was recognized as one of the best Central Defenders in South Asia for his performance in Mumbai FC and during the South Asia Football Federation (SAFF) Championship.

He joined Mumbai FC club two years back and was voted the FPAI Fans’ Player of the Year for the 2012-2013 season in India.

Dempo Sports Club Head Coach, Arthur Papas said the club was delighted to complete the singing of Amiri, who is believed to play an important role in the upcoming matches.

Amiri also welcomed the signing of the contract and said he was delighted to finally sign for Demp Sports Club.

He vowed to play well for the team and have a succesfful seasson with the Dempo Sports Club.

Amiri is a talented Afghan footballer, who is currently the captain of the Afghan National Football team. He led Afghanistan to a 2-0 victory over India in the south Asia Football Federation (SAFF) championship.
