The interior ministry said Saturday that a delegation was formed to investigate the alleged attack by police forces on Paktia governor in northern Balkh province.
According to a statement released by interior ministry, the delegation has visited Balkh province to investigate the incident.
The statement further added that four security guards of Juma Khan Hamdard were killed and three others were injured during the clashes.
At least two policemen were also injured during the gun battle which erupted on Friday while Paktia governor was returning to Kabul.
Paktia provincial governor spokesman, Rohullah Samoon said Friday that the attack was carried out a group of men in police uniform as soon as the Mr. Hamdard’s vehicles left Mazar-e-Sharif city.
Local officials in northern Balkh province said the incident took place on Kabul-Mazar highway.
