Officials in the ministry of interior affairs of Afghanistan following a press release on Wednesday announced, at least 3 armed insurgents were killed and another insurgent was detained following military operation by Afghan National Police.

The source further added, the militants were killed and detained following 6 separate military operations conducted by Afghan National Police in conjunction with the Afghan Army, Afghan Intelligence and Coalition Security Forces during the past 24 hours.

The operations were conducted at Kunar, Nangarhar, Helmand, Nimroz and Herat provinces of Afghanistan.

Afghan security forces also seized 25 kgs of drugs, 95 kgs of chemicals, 21 arms and weapons, 1 rocket launcher, 75 rounds of ammos, 4 improvised explosive devices, 15 hand grenades, 14 magazines of ammos and a vehicle used by militants.

The statement also added, Afghan security forces seized 3 improvised explosive devices, 3 rocket launcher missiles in a separate operation at Nangarhar, Khost and Kandahar provinces of Afghanistan.

At least 2 suspects were arrested by Afghan security forces, officials sadi.

Anti-government armed militant groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
