According to local authorities in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, at least 6 Afghan police officers were killed in this province.
Provincial governor media office following a statement said the incident took place in a security check post at Greshk district.
The source further added two Afghan police officers were killed by a comrade and a cook who had links with the miliants groups.
Late on several militants attacked the check post leaving at least four more Afghan police officers dead after the two police officers were shot dead by their comrade, the statement said.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
