Stanikzai had earlier said that the Afghan spinners were better than the Indian spinners.
“That’s a pretty big statement to make, considering they haven’t played Test cricket,” Nair was quoted as saying by Mid-Day.
Nair further added “All of our spinners have proven themselves in Test cricket, so there isn’t much to add to that.”
In regards to the Afghan spin sensation Rashid Khan, Nair said “Most of us have played him in the T20 but this is a different ball game. I don’t think he has played too many red-ball games. But the key is to be watchful and take it as it comes.”
This comes as the historic test match between Afghanistan and India will kick off from Thursday in Bengaluru city of India.
The one-off test match is considered as a historic match since this will be Afghanistan’s maiden test match after obtaining the test status from ICC.
