India has confirmed the death of one of its nationals in last night’s VBIED attack in Kabul which the Afghan officials say has claimed the lives of at least four people.

The Embassy of India in Kabul in a statement said “India strongly condemns the horrific terror attack in Kabul yesterday in which an Indian national and many others lost their lives.”

The statement further added “We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this cowardly attack and wish early recovery to the injured.”

“India calls for the perpetrators of this heinous attack and those provide shelter to be brought to justice expeditiously,” the statement added.

Security officials are saying the militants detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device near the Green Village Compound on Monday night.

The Ministry of Public Health officials are saying that the attack killed 4 people while around 113 others have sustained injuries, including many women and children.

The Taliban militants group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
