On Tuesday, officials said that the Indian army was fully awake and ready to respond to any attack along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Lt General Upendra Dwivedi stated that the army was ready to respond appropriately to any Chinese aggression in Ladakh and that the country’s integrity was being safeguarded by physical patrolling and technical measures.
“On the LAC, our response to Chinese attempts to unilaterally change the status quo was a swift, undaunted and synergized action by the Indian Armed Forces. Any adverse aggressive designs or attempts will be met with appropriate posturing of Forces and a strong intent with complete synergy among the three services,” he said.
India and China have a geopolitical contest over borders and territory in the Himalayas. The disputes and differences started in 1950 when China built a road in Aksai Chin which India claimed.
Since the Galwan Valley conflict in June 2020, both sides have started building military infrastructure on the border sides, adding more complexity to their diplomatic relations.
Meanwhile, the Indian official stated that attempts to settle the Line of Actual Control situation are being implemented at the diplomatic and operational levels.
