India secured their spot in the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup with a dominant seven-wicket victory over the United States on Wednesday. Suryakumar Yadav’s impressive fifty and Arshdeep Singh’s remarkable four-wicket haul propelled them to their third consecutive win, according to Reuters.

Despite their loss, the U.S. remains second in Group A with four points. They will secure qualification for the next round if they manage to defeat Ireland in their upcoming match on Friday.

Batting first, the Americans faced early setbacks as Arshdeep (4-9) struck in the first over, removing Shayan Jahangir and Andries Gous. Aaron Jones succumbed to the pressure, edging Hardik Pandya (2-14) to third man.

At 25-3, Steven Taylor (24) attempted to rally the team, hitting two sixes before being bowled by Axar Patel. Nitish Kumar emerged as the top scorer with 27 but fell to a stunning catch by Mohammed Siraj near the boundary.

Towards the end, contributions from Corey Anderson (15), Harmeet Singh (10), and Shadley van Schalkwyk (11 not out) helped the U.S. reach a competitive total of 110-8.

India’s chase started shakily with Virat Kohli falling for a golden duck to Saurabh Netravalkar (2-18) and captain Rohit Sharma (3) also succumbing to the medium pacer. Rishabh Pant (18) was bowled by Ali Khan, making boundaries hard to come by.

Yadav and Dube’s unbeaten 72-run partnership, aided by penalty runs, led India to victory, with Rohit Sharma praising their crucial stand and Arshdeep’s bowling.
