The Ministry of Transportation of Afghanistan has announced that the authorities have begun the tentative distribution of electronic driving license.

The authorities are saying that the Ministry of Transport has started the process with the cooperation of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology.

The Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ministry of Transport, Kabul Traffic Department and Asan Khedmat Department launched the tentative distribution of electronic driving license.

The authorities distributed the first the electronic driving licenses to MOhammad Fahim Hashemi, the acting minister of telecommunications and information technology, Yama Yari, the minister of transport and minister of public works.

Yama Yari said the distribution of electronic driving license is a good step towards transparency of the processes and the digitalization of driving licenses will prevent corruption.

Yari further added that the roll out of electronic driving license is part of the reforms the Ministry of Transport is implementing.
