Ziaulhaq AmarkhilThe Independent Electoral Complaints Commission of Afghanistan (IECC) said Tuesday that all allegations against chief electoral officer Ziaulhaq Amarkhil have been dismissed after his resignation.

Naderi Mohseni, spokesman for the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IEC), said the complaints against Amarkhil have dimisse following his resignation.

Mohseni further added that evidences provided by Abdullah’s team did not prove the involvement of Amarkhil in fraud.

He also added that IECC would refer any complaints filed for the investigation of the case’s criminal aspect, to the relevant authorities.

Ziahulhaq Amarkhil resigned from his position as the Independent Election Commission (IEC) secretary on Monday.

Amarkhil was accused of being involved in industrial scale fraud in the run off vote by Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, who had claimed that Amarkhil was working in favor of his rival Dr. Ghani.

However, rejected any involvement in fraud and said he was stepping down considering the national interest of the country.
