Hundred Afghan male and female footballers leave Afghanistan

Qatar’s foreign ministry in a statement confirmed that hundred Afghan male and female football players along with their families left Kabul for the country.

Deputy foreign minister and spokesperson of the ministry Lolwah Rashid al-Khater confirmed that news and said that it was the eighth flight of Qatar from Kabul.

The flight from Kabul to Qatar carried 357 people among them, 20 Afghan female footballers.

The flight is said to be conducted after coordination and agreement between Qatar and FIFA.

Earlier, FIFA had said that they are striving to evacuate other Afghan athletes.

The Qatar Airline’s this flight is rumored to be a flight with the most number of passengers after the Taliban takeover in which New Zealand citizens were also boarded.
