The former director of the Afghan intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS), Rahmatullah warns that the notorious Haqqani terrorist network will likely carry out more attacks in key cities of the country as part of the Taliban’s spring offensive.

In a Twitter post following the deadly Kabul attack, Nabil said the leader of the terror network Sarajuddin Haqqani is leading the military commission of the Taliban during the current spring offensive of the group announced last week.

Nabil criticized the government leaders for their engagement in hatching conspiracies against each other and for the failure to prepare against the conspiracies and plans of the militant groups.

However, he said the government should start thinking about the implementation of the plan prepared three years ago to cope with the further conspiracies of the enemies.

This comes as the anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban insurgents have unleashed a wave of deadly attacks across the country during the recent weeks and months.

The militants carried out successive suicide attacks in Kabul city earlier this morning which left nearly 30 people dead while dozens more have sustained injuries.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind the attacks but the officials often  blame the Taliban and its associate Haqqani network for such large scale attacks.
