The spokesperson for the Houthi military in Yemen announced that they had shot down an unmanned American aircraft over the city of Sa’dah in the north of the country.

The Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, reported the attack on Monday, April 29th.

Reports indicate that this attack occurred a day after a British oil tanker came under attack by Yemeni forces using several suitable missiles.

Houthi attacks on dozens of Israeli, American, and British ships in the Red Sea began in support of Palestinians after November 2023.

Previously, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported the destruction of an anti-ship ballistic missile and four Houthi drones by international coalition forces in the Red Sea.

The Houthis in Yemen have emphasized that their attacks on Israeli and allied ships will continue until the end of the hostilities between Israel and Hamas and the provision of humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees.

International concerns about the possibility of escalation in the region have grown following international reactions calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
