Hike in prices, Afghanistan commerce chamber to forge committee for control

Immigration News

Ever since the Taliban takeover, banking services literally stopped for nearly 13 days which led to a hike in the prices of fruit, flour, sugar, ghee, fuel, and all the food ingredients which are being imported to the country.

Officials in the Afghanistan chamber of commerce and investment have lately said that they are creating a committee to control the prices.

The committee will be formed by the members of the union of food ingredients, members of Afghanistan’s chamber of commerce and investment, and the members of the ministry of industry.

The officials also asked businessmen in the country to consider the volatile economic situation of the country and help them in bringing the prices down.

The problem hike is said to be owing to the closure of banks and the absence of monetary services.

The banks though opened but the individual bank account holders are not restricted to $200 withdrawal per week which exactly does not solve problems.

After the Taliban takeover, over 250 thousand ANDSF members and nearly one million civil servants have been out of jobs who are now desperate for jobs and financial activities.
