After extensive missile attacks by Hezbollah on northern Israel, the Israeli army stated that fighter jets targeted the launch sites. Hezbollah’s attack occurred hours after the killing of one of its senior commanders, Taleb Sami Abdullah.

Following Hezbollah’s missile attack in northern Israel, warning sirens were activated.

Hezbollah launched at least 150 projectiles towards Israel in multiple waves from Lebanon. BBC Arabic described this missile attack as the largest by Hezbollah on northern Israel since the start of the Gaza war.

Media reports indicate that Hezbollah fired up to 250 rockets and missiles towards Israel, as reported by the BBC.

Israel released a statement declaring that some of the missiles were detected and intercepted, but some projectiles fell in northern Israel, causing fires.

Hezbollah stated that it fired missiles and rockets at two military bases in retaliation for the killing of Taleb Sami Abdullah, 55. Known within Hezbollah as Hajj Abu Taleb, he was the most senior commander killed since the fighting began eight months ago.

The Israeli strike destroyed a house where Abdullah and three other officials were meeting, about 10 kilometers (6 miles) from the border, late Tuesday.

Simultaneously, the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has further escalated tensions in the region. Both sides have engaged in intense exchanges of rocket fire, leading to significant casualties and widespread destruction.

The people in Gaza are facing a dire humanitarian situation due to the continuous bombardments. Essential supplies, including food, water, and medical aid, are in critical shortage, exacerbating the suffering of the civilian population trapped in the conflict zone.
