The acting minister of foreign affairs of Afghanistan Amir Khan Motaqi has asked the international community to help them in returning the Internal Displaced People back to their residences.

Amir Motaqi met with the UN high commissioner for refugees Filippo Grandi in Kabul on Monday, September 13, and have discussed humanitarian aids, IDP’s, and Afghan refugees.

Afghan acting minister said that the United Nations and international should help Afghanistan to deal with the IDP’s and refugees in other countries.

Amir Khan Motaqi said that the cooperation of international is needed so that they prevent other people from leaving Afghanistan.

“We are fully ready to cooperate with the international community in returning Afghan refugees and the return of IDPs before the winter season is our top priority.” Said Motaqi.

The Taliban’s willingness to address the issues of IDPs and refugees come a day after the international community pledged over one billion dollars in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan in which the issues were at the top.

Representatives from over 90 states gathered at Geneva asked the Taliban to help them in delivering relief assistance prior to winter.
