The former Afghan intelligence chief Amrullah says a delegation should be formed to investigate the alleged support of Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar to ISIS supporters who are being kept in the custody of the Afghan security forces.
In another online statement posted on social media, Saleh said more than 20 former and current members of Hezb-e-Islami are being kept in the prisons for supporting the ISIS terrorist group and helping the terrorists in staging the attacks.
Saleh also added that the leader of Hezb-e-Islami has repeatedly intervened to secure the release of the detainees as well as preventin any legal procedures against them.
According to Saleh, a delegation comprising of the parliament and civil society activists should be formed to investigate the issue.
He also added that the people must know how many prisoners have been released from the jails due to the interferences of Hekmatyar.
The ex-Afghan intelligence chief also expressed doubts regarding the faith of Hekatyar about the peace deal and said “Has Hekmatyar truly joined peace and has surrendered or he has established a training ground for the terrorists in Dar-ul-Aman?”
This comes as the Hezb-e-Islami officials have rejected the allegations by Saleh against Hekmatyar saying such claims are baseless.
