Pakistani authorities have reported at least 24 deaths due to heavy rains and lightning strikes across three provinces of the country.

The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan stated on Sunday, April 14th, that 17 people died as a result of heavy rains, while seven others lost their lives due to lightning strikes.

According to reports, eight houses have collapsed, and some roads have been closed.

The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan reported that 17 people died in Punjab, five in Balochistan, and two in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Authorities in Pakistan have also announced efforts to assist the victims of this natural disaster.

Previously, heavy rains had caused the collapse of house roofs in various areas of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in the death of eight individuals and leaving 12 injured.

This comes as seasonal and winter rains in Pakistan annually result in the loss of dozens of lives and significant damage.
