At least four people lost their lives and ninety others sustained injuries in an explosion triggered by a Vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) in Kabul city earlier this evening.

Najib Danish, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior confirmed the casualties and said at least 33 children and 12 women were among those wounded.

Danish further added that the explosion took place place close to Green Village in the vicinity of the 9th police district of the city.

According to Danish, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device was detonated near the compound but there are no reports available regarding the casualties.

Wahidullah Mayar, a spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health had earlier said at least 4 people have died and 50 wounded people have been shifted to the hospitals from the incident site.
