
A group of militants detonated a car bomb in the vicinity of 16th district of Kabul city earlier today.
Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said the militants detonated the car bomb close to Gulbahar Tower at around 9 am local time.
Rahimi further added that the remaining insurgents took position inside another compound after detonating the car bomb.
Meanwhile, the interior ministry said in a statement earlier this evening that the security forces killed all 5 militants involved in the attack.
The interior ministry said in a statement that the attack claimed the lives of a child, a security guard of Shamshad TV.
The attack also claimed the lives of Special Forces soldiers and wounded 84 others.
Officials in the Ministry of Public Health had earlier said the rescue workers have shifted 116 people wounded people including 26 children and 5 women to hospitals.
