A heavy explosion rocked capital Kabul on Friday evening. A thick fume covered the sky in eastern part of Kabul city following the explosion.
The explosion taken place in the 9th district of Kabul city which was followed by heavy gun battle.
Spokesman for the interior ministry of Afghanistan, Sediq Sediqi confirmed the incident and said the suicide bomber attacked a convoy of the foreign forces near the Green Village where foreigners from various agencies are based.
Taliban group spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility behind the incident and said the target of the attack was a convoy of the foreign forces and the Green Village.
Zabiullah Mujahid further added that heavy casualties were incurred to foreigners who were inside the Green Village.
District 9 commanding officer, Najeebullah Samsor said at least three civilians were killed and four others were injured following the explosion. However, there are no reports regarding the casualties to the foreigners and those who are based inside the Green Village, which was targeted by the suicide bomber.
