Afghan security forces thwarted coordinated terrorist attacks in capital Kabul by arresting a group of terrorist attack organizers, Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) announced Tuesday.
The three-member group of terrorist attack organizers were looking to carry out coordinated attacks on Afghan consultative Loya Jirga, NDS said in its statement.
The statement further added that the militants were arrested during operations before and during the consultative Loya Jirga from the 8th district of Kabul city.
The militants recognized as Enayatullah resident of Paktiya province, Khudaidad resident of Nerkh district and Mohammad Naeem resident of Nangarhar province, NDS added.
Afghan security forces seized 3 AK-47 rifles along with its 30 magazines, 3 suicide bombing vests, 3 grenade launchers along with 36 grenades, 34 hand grenades along with a vehicle, NDS said.
