The White House has confirmed that the U.S. forces killed Hamza bin Laden, the son of Osama bin Laden in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region.

According to a statement released by White House “Hamza bin Laden, the high-ranking al-Qa’ida member and son of Usama bin Laden, was killed in a United States counterterrorism operation in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region.”

The statement did not disclose further information regarding the exact location where the U.S. forces conducted the raid.

However, the White House added that the loss of Hamza bin Laden not only deprives al-Qa’ida of important leadership skills and the symbolic connection to his father, but undermines important operational activities of the group.

The White House also added that Hamza bin Laden was responsible for planning and dealing with various terrorist groups.
