Gunmen torch trucks carrying NATO vehicles in Pakistan

Pakistan NATOAccording to Pakistani security officials, unknown gunmen torched at least truck carrying NATO armoured vehicles in Peshawar city of Pakistan.

The officials further added that the incident took place on Sunday night near Ring Road in the jurisdiction of Yakatoot police station.

A local police official said the watchman was initially taken hostage by the gunmen and then set three truck on fire.

He said the trucks were loaded with armoured vehicles for the NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Pakistan is a major transit supply route for the NATO mission in landlocked Afghanistan. The militant groups frequently targeted the supply convoy of the NATO forces inside the Pakistan soil.

At least two people were killed after gunmen attacked a NATO supply convoy in in Pakistan’s troubled northwest earlier this month.

The militants carried out three separate attacks on NATO supply convoy in Pakistan last month which left one person dead and three others injured.
