According to local authorities in easern Ghazni province of Afghanistan, an influential tribal elder was shot dead by unknown gunmen in this province.
The officials further added that the incident took place in Deh Yak district late Sunday night.
A local security official in Deh Yak district confirmed the report and said the tribal elder, Syed Amanullah was shot dead by unknowng gunmen after he came out of the mosque.
The official further added that the gunmen riding motorcycle, managed to flee the area after killing Syed Amanullah.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Ghazni is among the restive provinces in south-eastern Afghanistan, where Taliban militants are openly operating in its various districts and frequently carry out attacks against the Afghan officials and security forces.
