Ali Ahmad, Deputy Governor of Ghazni province told Khaama Press that the signers were abducted in Dasht Qarabagh area of Qarabagh District before noon on Tuesday.
He said the singers were on their way from Jaghori District to the provincial capital when they were stopped at a Taliban check point and taken to an unknown location.
Ali Ahmad added that Taliban initially abducted six passengers with the vehicle they were riding in but later released four of them.
Although the Deputy Governor said that the kidnappers were Taliban but the militant group’s spokesman had not commented on the report by the time this report was filed.
The motive behind the kidnapping is yet unknown but militants have demanded the release of their prisoners in exchange for four civilians they kidnapped from Ghazni province about a week ago.
Local officials say the kidnappers belong to the Uzbek militant group that also has the remaining of 31 civilians abducted over months before.
However, Ali Ahmad reiterated that the singers are not kidnapped by gunmen related to Uzbek militant group.
He said these gunmen belong to Taliban.
