Unknown gunmen detonated an improvised explosive device close to an electricity pylon in Salang Pass in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The state power utility firm or Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat confirmed in a statement that the gunmen destroyed the power pylon by detonating a bomb at around 1:30 am local time.

However, the utility said the technical staff of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat are busy reconstructing the damaged pylon.
