Taliban leaders killed in HelmandUnknown gunmen abducted six school teachers in western Badghis province of Afghanistan on Tuesday.

According to local government officials, the incident took place late on Tuesday in Qads district.

The officials further added that the fate of kidnapped school teacher is not clear so far and no group has so far claimed responsibility behind the abduction.

Badghis is among the relatively volatile provinces in western Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups are active in a number of its remote districts.

This comes as the anti-government armed militants abducted at least 25 university lecturers from southeastern Ghazni province earlier in June this year.

The lecturers, belonging to southern Kandahar university, were abducted by Taliban militants in Ghazni while they were on their way from Kandahar to Kabul.
