Thursday, June 16 – According to officials in Afghan Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation, Bahrain’s main aviation company, Gulf Air, launched its flights to Afghan capital Kabul for the first time on 15 June.
The officials further added that Gulf Air would be allowed to conduct flights from Kabul International Airport to other airports in the world at least five times a week.
Gulf Air will be conducting flights from Kabul to Bahrin and to other parts of the world with the beginning of its flights to Afghanistan.
The aviation services sector will be promoted in the country and a new phase of relations will be started between the two countries with the launch of Gulf Air’s flights to Afghanistan, Capt. Sayed Mehdi, Technical and Operational Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation said.

Mr. Samer Majali, Gulf Air Chief Executive said, “Gulf Air is the largest middle east network in the Gulf region. All the passengers coming from Kabul would be connected to our network through Bahrain and all the Middle East and Europe.”
Afghanistan will be connected with the countries in the region and world with the launch of Gulf Air flights. This will be the first Full Service scheduled commercial carrier in the Middle East to connect Afghanistan with the world.
Initially Gulf Air will start its flights between Kabul and Bahrain using an Airbus A320.
