Grenade attack on wedding party in Faryab leaves 15 injured

According to local government officials, the incident took place late on Thursday night in Andkhoi district.
The district administrative chief Sultan Mohammad Sanjar, said several people had attended a wedding party when militants hurled a hand grenade.
Sanjar further added that fifteen people were injured in the attack and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Faryab is among the relatively peaceful provinces in northern Afghaistan however the anti-government armed militants have recently increased to their insurgency activities in parts of Faryaban province during the recent months.
This comes as two people were killed and eight others wre injured after a hand grenade went off in Maimana city few days earlier.
According to reports, the incident took place after a hand grenade kept by a drug addicted man went off, leaving the addicted man dead along with his father dead and eight others wounded.
