Ghani warns against attempts to balkanize Afghanistan

Presidential contender Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai has warned against attempts to balkanize Afghanistan, saying that Afghanistan will remain strong and unified and that no one can balkanize Afghanistan.

Dr. Ghani was speaking during a press a conference two days after his rival Dr. Abdullah Abdullah accused his team for being involved in massive fraud during the election process.

Dr. Abdullah said Monday that his team will not accept the final vote results if bogus votes which he claims is more than one million, have not been separated.

Hoever, Dr. Ghani said his team will continue to talks and dialogues with the opponent team. However, he insisted that he will not agree to anything thatis against the constitution of Afghanistan.

“We will not look away from the constitution to make deals. All our talks about national unity government will be based on constitution/laws of the country,” Dr. Ghani said.

Dr. Ghani said the audit process of the election has been completed and called on electoral bodies to release the final vote results as soon as possible as it is the legitimate right of the people to see the fruit of their sacrifices.
