The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the two sides discussed the prospects for improving bilateral cooperation, fight against terrorism, regional issues, positive impacts of the U.S. strategy for South Asia, reforms in security and defense sectors, preparations for parliamentary elections, and peace process led by Afghans.
The statement further added that President Ghani welcomed the U.S. delegation and discussed the ongoing efforts to bring reforms in civilian and military sectors and reconciliation process.
President Ghani also hailed the United States for the support to Afghanistan for past one and half decades.
In his turn, House Speaker Paul Ryan and the U.S. delegation hailed the ongoing efforts for implementing reforms in civilian and military sectors and lauded the Afghan forces for the fight against terrorism.
They also emphasized on continued U.S. support to Afghanistan, the Office of the President added.
