President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has met with a number of key political leaders during separate consultative meetings to hold talks on key national issues, the Office of the President, ARG Palace said.
According to a statement released by ARG Palace, President Ghani discussed peace efforts, ceasefire, elections, and some other key issues, during the separate meetings with the political and Jihadi leaders.
The statement further added that the meetings were organized over a span of several days in ARG Presidential Palace.
President Ghani met with the First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum, former President Hamid Karzai, Abdul Rab Rasool Sayyaf, Hazrat Sebghatullah Mojadedi, Mohammad Younus Qanooni, Ata Mohammad Noor, Mohammad Mohaqiq, Eng. Mohammad Khan, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Mohammad Karim Khalili, Mohammad Almas Zahid, Mir Amanullah Gozar, Haji Iqbal Safi, Haji Din Mohammad, Abdul Hakim Munib, Ustad Mohammad Akbari, Syed Hamid Gilani, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Ataullah Ludin, and members of the Solidarity Council of Jamiat Islami led by Sayed Akramuddin.
According to ARG Palace, the political and Jihadi leaders leaders shared their views, recommendations, and perspectives regarding peace, stability, and elections during the meetings with President Ghani.
The statement by ARG Palace also added that President Ghani emphasized on the importance of consultation in a bid to resolve the key national issues.
He also added that the government would continue to the hold consultative meetings with the political and Jihadi leaders in order to use their views and recommendations.
