President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday introduced Asadullah Khalid and Amrullah as the newly-appointed acting ministers for defense and interior.
In his speech during a ceremony in ARG Palace, President Ghani said both Khalid and Saleh are the young and experienced cadres and have high national morale.
He said the duo has been cooperative with the government in national issue despite expressing their difference on political level and both have specific and distinct leadership and point of view.
Emphasizing on the need to utilize the intelligence expertise of Khalid and Saleh in a critical juncture of time, President Ghani said the government decided to benefit from the intelligence and military experiences of the two cadres in implementing reforms in the defense and interior ministries.
President Ghani once again reiterated the government’s commitment regarding peace process but added that it is the duty of the government and each Afghan to defend from every inch of the Afghan soil, emphasizing that the government would continue to bring peace but war demands administration and decisiveness.
He also added that Afghanistan is in the frontline of the international fight against terrorism and the country’s international relations has a strong basis.
President Ghani admitted that some small changes may occur as per the situation but Afghanistan shares joint interests with the international community and the country’s relations with the world are defined by the people and parliament of Afghanistan.
