President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani called the deadly bombing of the Afghan army mosque in Khost province a ‘shocking incident’ and ordered the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident.
He made the remarks during a video teleconference with the national defense and security officials in Command and Control center of the Ministry of Defense.
The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said President Ghani also held talks with the commanders of the military units, zonal commands, and provincial security and defense officials regarding the current situation of the country.
President Ghani said ‘Those who brought the culture of suicide are responsible for the crime committed in Khost province.’
He also added that sanctuaries of the suicide bombers are in the neighboring country, emphasizing that Taliban cannot their responsibility by issuing a statement only.
President Ghani said the Taliban must reconcile if they really want to reappear as Afghans, according to ARG Palace.
According to reports, at least 26 people lost their lives in an explosion in a mosque in the first brigade of the Afghan army in Khost province.
