The German Embassy has announced a contribution of 60 million euros for humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and neighbouring countries.

The embassy announced via its social media platform X this Thursday, specifying that the funds will assist earthquake victims in Herat province and Afghan returnees from Pakistan.

Germany has entrusted this aid to the World Food Programme and will disburse it through this organization.

Ten days ago, Germany also donated five million euros to the Afghan Humanitarian Fund.

The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs allocated this assistance to the earthquake-affected population in Herat. It stated that the budget would support organizations such as Caritas, Save the Children, World Vision, and humanitarian activities of United Nations agencies in Afghanistan.

Germany’s commitment to aiding Afghanistan reflects its dedication to addressing humanitarian challenges in the region.

This financial assistance will help alleviate suffering and meet the essential needs of affected and vulnerable people in Afghanistan.
