General Scot Miller confirms start of troops’ withdrawal from Afghanistan

General Scott Miller US and Resolute Support commander on Sunday said that the evacuation of some bases has already begun in Afghanistan.

During a press conference Miller said, “we will hand over all our bases to the Afghan forces”, he added, “A number of our bases have begun to evacuate”.

The United States is set to hand over three military bases and one airport to the Afghan national defense and security forces in the upcoming two weeks.

The handover is part of the Biden’s withdrawal plan from Afghanistan by September 11th.

Kandahar airport, Camp Shorabak, Camp Eggers, and COP (Dash Towp) in Chack district of Maidan Wardak are expected to be handed over to Afghanistan’s security and defense sectors.

According to miller the U.S troops will leave Afghanistan despite unknown fate of the peace agreement.

Miller urged the Taliban to reduce violence in Afghanistan.
